DICKSON, Tenn. (WKRN) – Two young men are being sought by police after a teenager was shot while driving down Highway 70 in Dickson.

Police are searching for Benjamin “Gabe” Douglas and Darien Reyes, 18 and 22 years old respectively, after the July 15 incident.

Officers responded to TriStar Horizon Medical Center where the victim reportedly told police he was driving near Paine Springs Road when a bullet was shot through the car, hitting him in the head.

The officer surveyed the vehicle in the parking lot, noting it had an obvious gunshot in the driver’s side. The bullet entered, struck the victim and the rear view window before exiting through the windshield.

The victim told police he could hear the gunshot when it happened and it “made his ears ring.”

The responding officer stated he felt the teen was lying “his accounts of what happened did not coincide with driving down the road and being shot.”

The victim’s friend, who was also in the car at the time of the shooting, reported to Dickson police they were at the Madison Ridge Apartments to buy weed before the shooting happened.

While at the apartment, two men reportedly came in and assaulted the dealers. The victim and his friend then fled in the truck.

The responding officer said he then spoke to victim again and “he again continued to lie to me even after being advised of the consequences for lying during the investigation”

“Juvenile would admit to parts of the accounts of the incident but only after I told him what happened,” the officer noted.

Further details weren’t immediately released. The investigation is ongoing.
