Fund set up for Lewis County deputy shot on duty

LEWIS, TN — The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office has set up a fund for the family of one of their deputies, who was shot on duty.

The shooting happened Thursday night between a robbery suspect in in Hohenwald.

Deputy Robin “Robbie” Hooks was one of two law enforcement officers shot.

Authorities at TBI says Hohenwald Police Officer Robert Carroll was the other officer involved but his bulletproof vest protected his body.

Officer Carroll was treated on scene.

The Sheriff’s office says that Deputy Hook faces a long recovery.

The suspect involved in the shooting,18-year old Allen Quintez Swader, was shot and killed.
