Police investigate possible abduction attempt in Mt. Juliet

MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) – Mt. Juliet police are investigating a possible abduction attempt after a 6-year-old girl was approached by an unknown man while riding her bicycle.

It happened around 10 a.m. Saturday near the 700 building of the Willow Creek Apartments off Charlie Daniels Parkway.

The mother reported authorities her daughter was asked by a man to get into his car. The little girl said the man also began following her after she said no.

The 6-year-old reportedly yelled and ran away to her mother. The mom said she searched the man herself for about 15 minutes before calling police.

The suspect was described to police as a middle-aged white man that was dark-skinned with grey and black hair. He was driving a maroon SUV with other children inside.

When the incident was reported, several officers flooded the area in an attempt to locate the man. The search proved unsuccessful.
