Presidential hopeful Walker returning to area

Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker will return to middle Tennessee this weekend, the latest in a string of Republican presidential candidates making stops in the area.

Walker will be a guest speaker at State Senator Jack Johnson’s’ Boots and Jeans, BBQ and Beans, being held at The Factory at Franklin.

That’s the same place fellow Republican White House hopeful Ted Cruz visited earlier in the month.

This won’t be Walker’s first trip to middle Tennessee. The Wisconsin governor made a campaign stop at Puckett’s Grocery in Nashville just last month.

Sunday’s event begins at 4 p.m. at The Factory. Organizers say Walker is expected to speak around 4:50 p.m.

Two more candidates are expected to be in the area next weekend, including poll-leader Donald Trump. He, along with Rick Santorum, are scheduled to be speakers at the National Federation of Republican Assemblies’ annual convention which will be held in downtown Nashville.
