WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Tenn.– The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about a scam where a caller claims he works for the department and says residents didn’t show up for jury duty.

The scammer claims to be a Lt. Jim Handy with WCSO and tells his targets they did not report for jury duty so must now either face jail time or have the option of loading a prepaid card with money, getting a cashier’s check and bringing it to him at the courthouse.

WCSO says they would never call anyone and ask for money for missing jury duty. Anyone with information or who believes they are being targeted in a jury duty scam is asked to hang up and call WCSO at 615-790-5550.
