NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — It was released Friday that four tornadoes took place on Wednesday, Dec. 23.
In a damage survey released by the National Weather Service, a breakdown of each tornado was explained.
The first tornado happened in Linden, Tennessee. With an EF-2 rating, the tornado had peak winds of 115 mph and traveled over almost 14 miles. This tornado resulted in the death of two people. Multiple trees were uprooted and a home was destroyed.
A tornado in Lutts, Tennessee received an EF-3 rating and traveled at peak winds 157 mph. Seven people were injured as a result of the tornado. A post office and a church were destroyed.
Wayne County experienced an EF-1 tornado that stretched over three miles going 110 mph at its peak. One home was destroyed and many trees were uprooted.
An EF-2 tornado touched down in Dekalb/Smith County at around 10 p.m. Wednesday. It traveled over eight miles with winds reaching 125 mph. Multiple homes received damage and numerous trees were uprooted.
