Outdoor Rec, a part of the AEDC Services Branch, is hosting Fright Fest Oct. 29, 6-9 p.m. at Crockett Cove.
This event is for all ages, open to the public and includes costume contests for adults and children with top three winning prizes for each. There will also be a bonfire, hot dog roasting and s’mores, an outdoor movie and a scary trail. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for ages 6-12. Under age six is free.
Crockett Cove is located on Northshore Road between the Gossick Leadership Center and UTSI crossroads. Parking will be located just before the fork on the right in the grass lot. Upon arrival, head over to the main pavilion, as the event kicks off with the costume contest. Once prizes are awarded, the trail tours, hot dogs and s’mores begin. The trail and lodge tours are led by a guide in small groups of 6-10 individuals and lasts 25-30 minutes. Listen for announcements for tours to begin and where to gather.
