Several varieties of cheese sold at Kroger stores in Tennessee and Kentucky are part of a nationwide recall.

The cheese being recalled is from California-based Karoun Dairies, over concern of possible listeria contamination. The Food and Drug Administration says the move is being done as a precaution and that none of the company’s products have tested positive for the bacteria.

The cheeses affected are sold under several different brands.

On its website, Kroger has listed the recalled brands it sold.

It includes the following product sold at Kroger stores in Eastern Kentucky, Western Kentucky, and the Memphis, TN area:

  • Karoun Jumbo String Cheese Marinated, Bulk Random Weight

Also included are these products, which Kroger says were sold in its stores in Eastern Kentucky, Western Kentucky, the Memphis, TN area, as well as Bowling Green and Hopkinsville in Kentucky, and in Nashville and Knoxville, TN:

  • Yanni Style Grilling Cheese, 8 oz.
  • Queso Del Valle Fresco Cheese, 8 oz.
  • Queso Del Valle Blanco Cheese, 8 oz.
  • Queso Del Valle Cotija Cheese, 8 oz.
  • Karoun String Cheese Braid, 5 oz.
  • Yanni Style Grilling Cheese with Jalapeno, 8 oz.
  • Central Valley Creamery Smoked String Cheese, 5 oz.

The FDA says if you have any of these cheeses at home, to throw them away or bring them to the store you brought them from for a full refund.

To help people recognize if they have any of these products in their refrigerator, the FDA has posted pictures of each recalled cheese. You can find those pictures here: PICTURES OF RECALLED ITEMS.
