Passenger injured after shots fired into car

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) –
One person was injured when shots were fired into a car in north Nashville just a couple blocks away from the Tennessee State University campus.Three people were inside the car near 33rd Avenue North and Batavia Street when someone fired five or six shots at them around 1 a.m. Wednesday.

The bullets shattered the window on the passenger’s side. One of the passengers was injured after being cut by glass or grazed by a bullet. The victim was treated for injuries but did not go to the hospital. No one else was injured.

The car’s owner was not inside the car at the time of the shooting.

“My cousin called me to come and take her to the store. My boyfriend took her to the store, and on their way back, I guess somebody just started shooting at the car,” she said.

The victims could not give police a description of any of the suspects.
