NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) –
Police are looking for a murder suspect in Midtown who escaped from officers outside the police precinct at the corner of 12th Avenue South and Wade Avenue on Wednesday morning.

Brian T. Williams, 32, got away while he was in handcuffs at 12:45 a.m.

He is wanted in the shooting death of 34-year-old Henry Arthur Wilson, who was killed in the parking lot of the Park at Hillside Apartments on Hillside Avenue.

Williams was arrested on the 1600 block of Hillside Avenue, which is when he was handcuffed and turned over to a patrol officer. Police said Williams maneuvered the handcuffs to the front of his body while he was in the patrol car.

Metro Nashville Public Schools issued this statement on Twitter: “All schools in the area are open as normal. We have extra security officers in the area and are in close contact with @MNPDNashville.”

Williams is 5’6″, weighs 135 pounds and was wearing a red T-shirt, camo pajama pants, black socks and no shoes.

Anyone who sees Williams is asked to call the Emergency Communications Center at 615-862-8600.
