NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Tennessee Highway Patrol is cracking down on drunk drivers over this Labor Day holiday.

Friday, THP announced new efforts to keep motorists safe, including new “DUI Trooper Taxis,” a campaign against driving drunk.

“Those vehicles will be stationed all over the state in coming weeks and months to help people think about the choices they have when it comes to drinking and driving. You can pay $50 to ride in a taxi or pay thousands of dollars to ride in our cruisers,” said Lt. Bill Miller of THP.

Troopers are not only beefing up patrols for the holiday weekend, but for football season as well
