VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WKRN) – Tennessee Titans wide receiver and Virginia Beach native Justin Hunter was taken into custody Monday for a bar fight that happened in Virginia Beach on July 4.
According to a police report, as the Fourth of July holiday was getting under way officers were called to a large fight at Sandbar Raw Bar.
The victim, whose injuries weren’t immediately known, was transported to a nearby hospital.
Investigators say they later determined the suspect as 24-year-old Hunter of Tennessee.
He was charged with one count of felonious assault and remains in the Virginia Beach jail without bond.
While the circumstances of his alleged actions remain unknown, jail records indicate the assault charge involves “malicious intent, stabbing, cutting wounding.”
The case remains under investigation.
The Tennessee Titans released the following statement regarding Hunter’s arrest: “We are aware of the situation and are continuing to gather more facts.”
