BURKESVILLE, KY– Kentucky State Police are asking for the public’s assistance locating 62-year-old Floyd Ray Cook after they say he shot one officer and fired shots at another while fleeing.

Cook shot Officer Ahscari Valencia during a traffic stop on Saturday. Trooper Jeremy Baker located Cook’s car on KY 61 and tried to pull him over when Cook wrecked the car and fired at the tropper from his truck. Trooper Baker was not injured and Cook fled from the scene.

A homeowner later told police they spotted Cook at his Dulworth Road residence but by the time police made entry, Cook was not inside.

Cook is described as standing 6′ tall, weighing 160 pounds with blue eyes, grey balding hair and grey facial hair. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a green “Carhart” type jacket. He should be considered armed and dangerous.
