Nashville man charged with firing gun near 5-year-old in Oak Ridge

OAK RIDGE, Tenn. (WATE) – A Nashville man was arrested for reportedly shooting a weapon near a child Sunday in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

Oak Ridge police said Kendre Sheilds fired a round from a gun at a vehicle on Rocky Top Market that afternoon.

Three adults and a 5-year-old were inside the vehicle at the time of the shooting.

The suspect’s car was later found parked at a home at Latimer Road.

Shields was taken into custody and charged with four counts of aggravated assault and one count of reckless endangerment. He reportedly surrendered himself to police.

No additional information was immediately released.
