The Tennessee Department of Agency (TEMA) has declared a Level III State of Emergency.

Two of the hardest hit were Perry and Wayne counties, where TEMA will be deploying officials to assist with storm response.

The storms began sweeping through from the west around 4 p.m., bringing heavy rain and severely damaging winds.

Sheriff Weems told News 2 the winds “exploded the home” on Highway 412 East in Linden while the victims were inside and carried the debris up to 200 yards away.
