FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WKRN) — Republican presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson will spend the weekend campaigning in middle Tennessee.
On Saturday morning at 9 a.m., the retired neurosurgeon was at a private fundraiser at the home of Franklin Mayor Ken Moore.
The two men have something in common; both spent their careers as doctors before transitioning to politics. Moore is an orthopedic surgeon.
On Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m., Carson will attend another fundraiser at the Belle Meade home of Ellen Miller.
Carson’s campaign website lists the cost of tickets for each event as $1000. $2700 tickets were also being sold for attendees who wanted to be considered a “host” of each event.
On Sunday morning around 8 a.m., Carson will speak during a church service at Cornerstone Church in Madison, according to the church’s website.
This week, a nationwide survey conducted by The New York Times showed Carson has pulled ahead of longtime front-runner Donald Trump in the race for the Republican presidential nomination.
